Alarming Climate Changes due to Global Warming

The thinning ice in the Antartics and similar proofs hardly leaves anyone doubting of the growing alarming|effects of climate change.
Yes, there are still a few who believe that all these are simply normal part of our day to day living. Scientists, however, are agreeing these events aren’t natural.
The weather definitely is getting warmer, which has been observed and documented globally. Some countries have observed an average temperature rise of around four degrees Fahrenheit.
The first and second warmest years on record were 1998 and 2006, respectively. In fact, every year from the first to the second warmest years, ranked within the warmest 25 years in the US. In 2006, the annual average temperature was 55 degrees Fahrenheit. Recent warm years point to a climate change being brought on by global warming.
In the U.S., back in 1998 and 2006, these were recorded as the warmest years ever. In fact, every year thereafter, from the
first to second warmest years, appeared to have been the hottest, considering all documented temperatures within the previous 25 years.In 2006, the yearly average temperature was 55 degrees Fahrenheit. These drastic increase in temperatures have been atrributed to climate change as a result of global warming.
The effects of climate change due to global warming is more noticible during a drought. Years are drier and in some countries, forest or bush fires are becoming a common event. This is caused by the heat that is building up around the earth’s surface.
The cases of drought and seriousness is even made worst by global warming. A major drought in the US lasted from 1999-2002. Other than these, there were only two recorded droughts in the last forty years that were so catastrophic that crops were
destroyed resulting to further food shortages.
There have been more and more frequent droughts in the West in recent years. The last 30 years in particular have seen numerous droughts. These droughts have spawned wildfires that set new records in 2006 for number of fires and of acres burned. Further proof of global warming is seen in these destructive wildfires.
While the overall effect of global warming is heat followed by drought, there are still storms. Since global warming energizes the atmosphere, these storms will be different. When all is going well, a gentle rain will soak into the earth gradually, causing no more than a minor inconvenience to people.
Because of global warming, storms are becoming more destructive. While there have certainly been droughts, rainfall totals have risen in the past century. This surprising fact is due to the fact that when the rain comes, it comes in rapid downpours. The sky opens up and dumps water on the earth very quickly in many cases. This is followed by dry periods.
The number of times it rains in a year has increased during the last 50 years due to global warming. What is more, global warming is causing storms to intensify. Storms which would have been ordinary thunderstorms in the past are morphing into raging tempests. Hurricanes have been rated higher in recent years as global warming affects their intensity.
Global warming is responsible for many climate changes. Often, people cause the increase in global warming that precipitates these changes. If people could make it a common goal to cut down on activities that promote global warming, the earth would be a much more stable environment. There is no doubt that the earth’s climate is constantly changing. Some people feel that it is part of the normal cycle of events on this planet. Yet, most scientists agree that there are drastic changes occurring that are due to unnatural global warming.

Understanding Global Warming

Currently no one really knows the exact cause of global warming although it is a big part of what science is researching. There are a lot of efforts being placed into finding out the exact cause of this and to figure out how to stop it from going much further. We can speculate however what may happen if global warming is not put to a stop and put to a stop very soon. While there are many people out there with outlandish stories of what is going to happen to the world, there is some underlying cause of concern with the issue of global warming that should not be ignored in the slightest bit.
First, we all need to understand just what exactly global warming is and that is the increase of the average temperature of the surface air and the temperatures of the oceans. The temperatures have slowing increased over the years showing that this may be a trend that could very well get out of hand one day. Of course, many people and scientists are claiming that human activity could very well be the main cause of all of the problems with global warming. But there are of course natural causes that have to be taken into consideration as well.
Getting Educated
When it comes to making sure that future generations know that global warming is something serious that they need to be cautious of, there is nothing more important then education. If we just continue to ignore the subject then our future generations will not truly understand the seriousness of it and just go on allowing this whole thing to get more and more out of control. Global warming is something that should be taught in every school starting in the grade school years. Even though the younger kids cannot understand all of the complexities of the situation, they can be taught a lot of the basics just to get them to understand age appropriate things regarding the situation.
As child progress into their older years then the teachings can get a little in depth within the schools. Projects and assignments on global warming is a great way to make sure that the kids are truly getting involved and that they are really thinking hard about this. Whether or not your school district is teaching a good bit on global warming, it is a good idea to make sure that you are talking about it at home. This will reinforce what is being learned at school about global warming and your child will see that this is truly something to take serious at all times.
Global Warming – Apocalypse or Just an Exaggeration?
The constant climate change is a fact that we just can’t disregard anymore. As unreal as it may sound, the world may soon end and we have some fault whereas these changes are concerned. Global warming is something that can’t be controlled as easily as one might think, having a dreadful effect all over the world. The catastrophic results reflect on the biodiversity of the planet and its eco-systems.
In order to attract people’s attention, many “festivals of life” and other similar campaigns have been organized in order to save Mother Earth. But campaigns, commercials, experiments… they are all useless when it comes to climate change. Responsible for this situation are indirectly greenhouse gases and directly the human race. In order to remediate this problem, the Kyoto protocol was adopted in Kyoto, Japan on 11 December 1997. The international agreement was signed by several countries (with well-developed industries), all agreeing on the importance of reducing greenhouse gases that have led to climate change.
All this trouble could have been avoided if the emissions of these gases would have been interdicted since their first appearance, but people are greedy and they always put money before ecology, not realizing that as rich as you may be, it means nothing… if the air that surrounds us is not breathable.
Although it is quite late, the solution remains the same and could still be put in practice in order to save what is left of nature, and that is: stopping the emission of greenhouse gases. But what are people constantly thinking about? Ecology? Of course not! Economy! Are they thinking that with the daily burning of new fossil fuels, the Amazon forest that sustains life on Earth is dying a little bit more and more? It’s hardly likely!
Global warming is a real problem and one that should be tackled with more seriousness. What we have seen in movies like “Armageddon”, “The Apocalypse”, “The end of the days”, “The core”, etc, is becoming more and more a possibility. Maybe it won’t happen now, but in 20-25 years or something… who knows?
In their attempt to stop climate change, a lot of scientists have repeatedly said that it is a “must” to develop forests, as many and as big as possible. This is the only way of reconstructing the ozone “blanket”. We all know that this gas – the ozone – is one of the most important gases that exist in the Earth’s atmosphere. The ozone has the very difficult task of blocking the harmful ultraviolet rays from reaching the Earth’s surface and it also helps the temperature of the Earth’s surface to stay warm enough.
Global warming is the single most destructive force hurting our planet. The industrial revolution of the past two centuries has taken a toll on our planet’s wild life and environmental infrastructure due to mankind’s destructive behavior. Global climate change is obvious in all corners of the Globe, from melting polar ice caps to ozone depletion. The theory behind this phenomenon is that the Earth receives heat from the Sun; the Sun gives off the heat in the form of radiation in which the Earth absorbs 70%, which warms the surface and the oceans, while the remaining 30% is reflected into space.
